T O P I C R E V I E WRossLook at eBay 310625527448 (note that the description is incorrect it should by MR-4). This has to be one of the strangest covers I've seen. At first it appears to be a Riser fake, being on a US embossed airmail cover and with typed text that exactly matches other assumed Riser fakes. However, look at the postmark. I've never seen a machine cancel on either a Riser fake or a genuine Randolph cover. It also doesn't help that the postmark is missing the year and the day is blurred! Is this a Riser Fake? Is it a Riser cover that someone got postmarked aboard the Randolph after the recovery (say in 1962)? Quite the mystery cover!I wouldn't mind paying a few dollars out of interest but I definitely wouldn't be bidding high.I've sent a message to the seller and I'll let you know what he says.Any thoughts?RossThe seller has contacted me. He's done the right thing and withdrawn the cover. He was selling a large collection so I'm confident he didn't realize it was a fake. He deserves a tick for doing the right thing.
